Ranger Cookies

Ingredients:
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
½ cup shortening
½ tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
½ tsp soda
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup fortified whole wheat flakes cereal
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. Mix sugars, egg, shortening and vanilla throughly.
2. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, oats, wheat flakes and chocolate chips.
3. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes until set but not hard. Cool about 3 minutes on baking sheet.
Variations:
Add ½ cup shredded coconut.
Add ¼ teaspoon almond extract.
