Wheat
So.. last night I decided to try to make wheat bread. I’ve done white bread before and usually it is pretty good, but I’ve always been scared of wheat because the dough can get so dense and gross. Well, that did not happen. What did happen was my loaf became monsterously large. The recipe (coughcoughMOMcough) said it was for one loaf, so I put the whole ball of dough in one bread pan when really I should have made it two. Swiss or Italian?
So.. I have made Swiss Meringue Buttercream lots of times and love it. One of my favorite frostings ever, it is beautiful, tasty, pipes and stores well. The only down side to this frosting is that you have to beat the eggs with sugar over hot water to make sure the eggs are cooked through before beating and adding the butter etc. It’s not a big deal, but does make my arm tired if I’m making a lot. Something New
So.. last week at the market I decided to pick up some asparagus and try them out. I’ve only eaten them once, and honestly I didn’t really like them. But, I’ve started liking things I used to hate recently, so thought I’d give it a try. I have two recipes in mind to use these weird little veggies on, and I did the first today.
